A New Name

I’m opting to keep it short for now—I’ve got a new name. The Design Canopy is now Design Intellection.

There are several reasons for moving to a new domain and I plan to delve into those later. As for now I can say that I plan to launch a realignment/redesign on April 15th to accompany the new domain. My goals for the site are shifting a bit and the current design didn’t allow for that shift.

For example I want to write more, in smaller pieces, and the current design doesn’t allow for that gracefully. (See the Function Follows the Form section in a recent article by Khoi Vinh about his layout at Subtraction.com.)

I’ve updated the color scheme and a few graphics to more of what the final design will resemble. I’m also writing this in WordPress 2.5’s admin interface and I can say that the writing experience is more pleasant in version 2.5 than in previous versions.
